A bad tank might be as good as a good one on a fight like yorshaj (because its simple and easy) but one with a bit of movement and some complex ideas of what to put where then the bad tank will not be up to scratch.
Regarding the tank role, I would love to see some more specialized tanking like for instance warrs and druids excel at mobility in fight, with the warr being better on aoe, while the druid would be better for singletarget fights. And on the other side, palas and DK's would excel with magic resistance with palas on aoe tanking and dk's on singletarget.
Cooldowns is another thing players must know when play as tanks in MOP - was the old 5-minute shield wall better?
I prefer the new design. With the new design, a good tank can map cooldowns during a fight and take much less damage overall than a bad tank. About cooldowns, I don't have much of a problem with shield wall as it is, I like the option to change its power/cd though.. Depending on the fight ofc. But from my warr pow I would like to have some better self heal options. In catas first year, we saw a blood DK soloing Yogg, and yet here I am as a warrior hardly able to complete old raids and such without items like Souldrinker.
A stronger version of Blood Craze, a lower cd on Enraged Regen or even something like Impending Victory without the "below 25%" mark. However if Second Wind is gonna be like what I can read from it that I get 3% hp every sec, while under 35% hp, then I guess that will be sufficient.
Raid role – how much importance does/should a tank have within a raid composition?
There are also some changes on the tank raid role. A bit less "taunt at x stacks" mechanics would be nice. I like fights like Nefarian, the idea behind Morchok Heroic, Omnotron, Blackhorn HC where both tanks are both busy.
